How to Join FANZP

When you join FANZP it will be from one of the three following scenarios:

Initial employment with Air New Zealand, Eagle Air, Air Nelson, or Mt Cook and not a union member.

• Apply for FANZP membership
• Covered by FANZP Collective Employment Agreement (CEA)

Employed by Air New Zealand, Eagle Air, Air Nelson, or Mount Cook Airline and joining FANZP from an individual employment agreement (IEA).

• Apply for FANZP membership
• Covered by FANZP Collective Employment Agreement (CEA)

Employed by Air NZ, Eagle, Air Nelson, or Mt Cook; currently an ALPA member and covered by the ALPA CEA. (i.e changing union contract but staying in the same company, or joining from another group airline or airline outside the Air NZ group)

• Apply for FANZP membership
• Resign from ALPA (FANZP membership will be effective from ALPA resignation date)
• If the ALPA CEA is within 60 days of expiry, or has expired, you are covered by the FANZP CEA
• If the ALPA agreement has not expired or has more that 60 days to expiry, you are covered by an IEA based on the ALPA agreement. But, you can (and will be expected to) negotiate with your employer to be covered by an IEA based on the FANZP CEA. FANZP will provide support during this negotiation.
• Within 60 days of the expiry of the ALPA CEA you will be party to, and covered by, the FANZP CEA.
